Wear Resistance
Laboratory and clinical testing have shown alumina
ceramic-on-alumina ceramic to produce almost undetectable levels of
wear. At less than 1 micron/year Alumina-on-Alumina wears at a rate
of 200 times less than the traditional metal-on-polyethylene2,3. What does
this mean for your patients? Less wear means Keramos™ is going to last
longer than ever before and produce less wear debris that can lead to
particle-induced osteolysis. In other words, younger and more active
patients now have a long-term answer for their pain.
