Printable Invite and Agenda Overview
The Orthopedic Education Summit is a two day training and
education event that is designed to provide product training,
education, and surgical technique demonstrations as a
comprehensive update for orthopedic surgeons. The didactic
sessions will address the latest technologies and advancements in
orthopedics such as metal on metal large diameter heads, X-Alt™
Highly Crosslinked Polyethylene, Delta composite ceramics,
3DKnee™ technique and results, Praxim’s Computer Navigation
System, techniques and clinical outcomes using the Reverse®
Shoulder for treatment of cuff tear arthropathy, and many more
topics related to a range of hip, knee, and shoulder systems. In
addition, minimally invasive joint replacement techniques will
be discussed. Sawbone sessions will offer surgical technique
demonstrations and practice for attendees. The program will also
include an X-ray Review Session for diffi cult cases. Participants
are encouraged to bring cases for discussion. Panel discussion
periods will be incorporated into each didactic session providing
opportunities for attendee and faculty interaction.
Verification of Attendance
You will receive a certifi cate at the end of the course. The certifi cate pertains only to course completion and is intended for record keeping purposes. It does not, in any way, attest to clinical competence.
Support
Grant funds and technical support provided by DJO Surgical, Austin, Texas, a division of DJO Global, Incorporated.
Objectives
Upon completion of this training and education activity, participants should be able to:
• Assess the clinical applications and advantages of the updated hip stem designs and acetabular system shells, liners, and bearing surfaces.
• Evaluate the advances in MIS surgical techniques as they apply to functional restoration and pain relief in total knee and hip replacement.
• Summarize the system design, surgical approach, and clinical outcomes of the Reverse® Shoulder.
• Examine the kinematics, durability, and long term performance of the 3DKnee™.
• Discuss the pros and cons of computer navigation for total joint arthroplasty.
• Describe any patient case or sawbones technique that can impact the treatment and management of your specific patient population..
Teaching Methods
Faculty will enhance didactic presentations with relevant audiovisuals. Panel discussion periods are scheduled to allow participants the opportunity to interact with the faculty and sawbone sessions will enable participants to observe surgical techniques for joint implants and provide an opportunity for hands-on experience with instrumentation. An X-ray review session will focus on the management of diffi cult cases and additional attendee and faculty interaction. The didactic content combined with discussions and demonstrations will provide the orthopedic surgeon a comprehensive update on the surgical advances in the treatment and management of knee, hip, and shoulder arthropathy.
Teaching Methods
Faculty will share valuable experiences
and clinical outcomes for many of these
